The BBC are to release a single episode drama entitled "We'll Take Manhattan" about the ground breaking British Vogue fashion shoot in New York by David Bailey in 1962, This photoshoot featured the then relatively unknown British model Jean Shrimpton who was Bailey's lover and muse for some considerable time.
This is to be shown on BBC Four in January 2012, which will be 50 years after the original photoshoot, and apparently both David Bailey and Jean Shrimpton have seen the BBC drama and given it their approval.
My interest in this drama is that the same photoshoot which the BBC are to dramatise was also my inspiration for a body of my fine art photography work in Blackpool back in 2010 entitled "BP RM MB10".
