Goop ...

From my current exhibition "A Grand Day Out" :

‘Goop’

This is a collection of Polaroid peel-apart instant film images negatives. These paper negatives known as ‘goop’ are the part of film process that was originally designed to be thrown away.

‘Goop’, as the name suggests, are very sticky and unstable due to residual chemicals of the instant film process that are left on them. However, handled with care and scanned before they fully dry out, these negatives create a wonderful unique abstract vision of the world. The artist can therefore often choose this method over that of the more conventional positive image creation.
